Mrs Dimakatso Dikgole – Executive Director.   

Dimakatso Masobe-Dikgole (Maki D) graduated with a 3 year diploma in Fashion Design in the United States of America and upon her return to South Africa, completed a one year internship with local designers Linda Lieberman. She then moved on to start her own business with the clothing label ‘Maki D’.

Her designs include elements of ethnic and European influence and some of the highlights of her career include running the 1999 SABC ‘Culture to Couture’ Project and holding fashion exhibitions in Germany, Sweden, Malaysia where her some of her designs proved to be very popular.

Maki is very passionate about the fashion industry and is involved in Mzansi Designers because her mission is to share her experience with up-and-coming designers so that they, in turn, may enjoy a larger share in the fashion industry locally and internationally. Her vision is to have an in-house exhibition and production centre.

 

Mr Lesego Malatsi - Operations Director.

Lesego Malatsi’s passion for fashion found him studying and graduating from the Peninsula Technikon with a National Diploma in Clothing Design. He went on to establish his own company called Anthony Couture cc which has grown to become a successful fashion house, marketing and distributing fashion throughout South Africa and Internationally.

He has taken part in a number of interviews on issues pertaining to the South African Fashion Industry and has featured in the print and electronic media. He has dressed emerging music artists for their music videos and television presenters for their programmes and events.

Apart from being the sole managing member of Anthony Couture he has enjoyed many other involvements in the industry, including being Chairperson for the Young Designers Workshop (2002-2003) as well as holding a board membership position in Ekhaya Youth Development Initiative during the same period.

He became involved as a Director/ COO of Mzansi Designers Institute in line with his vision to be instrumental in bringing about positive change and development in the South African Fashion Industry.
